Evangeline Lilly and Barry Humphries are the latest additions to the cast ensemble of The Hobbit line-up. On his Facebook page, director Peter Jackson has made an official announcement that Lilly and Humphries will join Orlando Bloom, Andy Serkis for the adventure fantasy movie.
Evangeline Lily, who is well-known for her role as Kate Austen on the drama series 'Lost', will take the role of a new character, a Woodland Elf named Tauriel, which means daughter of Mirkwood. Barry Humphries will reprise the role of the Goblin King. Orlando Bloom and Andy Serkis have already been roped in for the leads.
The Hobbit is about the journey of Bilbo Baggins to the Lonely Mountain accompanied by a group of dwarves to reclaim a treasure taken from them by the dragon Smaug. The story is based on a novel by JRR Tolkien and it is split into two parts as The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and The Hobbit: There and Back Again. They are shot back-to-back.
