George Clooney's movies heading to Toronto Film Fest

Actor George Clooney is all set to grab the attention at the 36th Toronto International Film Festival, which is to be held from September 8 to 18. The Hollywood star's political thriller The Ides of March and family drama The Descendants, which is directed by Alexander Payne, are being screened at the film festival.

George Clooney-directed movie Ides of March will first open the Venice International Film Festival in August. The movie will also be screened at Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto. The movie, which features Ryan Gosling, Marisa Tomei and Evan Rachel Wood, will be released in theaters on October 7.

Meanwhile, The Descendants is part of the Special Presentations sidebar. The movie is all about a land baron tries to re-connect with his two daughters after his wife suffers a boating accident. George Clooney plays dad to two daughters opposite Shailene Woodley and Judy Greer among others. It will be released on November 23 by Fox Searchlight.

However, the Toronto International Film Festival is held in Buenos Aires. Apart from The Ides of March and The Descendants, Brad Pitt-starer Moneyball and Jane Fonda-starer Peace, Love and Misunderstanding have also been selected for the screening at film fest.
