Ryan Reynolds starrer Green Lantern, which has received good remarks from film critics, has also got a huge opening at the collection centres. According to estimates of trade analysts, the movie is expected to cross a $57 million to $60 million over the Father's Day weekend.
Warner Bros. Pictures' Green Lantern is being screened in a total of 3,816 theaters, including 2,711 3D locations. The 3D superhero movie has earned $3.4 million in 1,180 midnight runs on the first day. These midnight grosses were on par with X-Men: First Class and slightly better than the $3.3 million grossed Thor.
X-Men: First Class had grossed $55.1 million in its opening weekend, while Thor debuted at $65.7 million at the Box Office. Green Lantern, which is tracking best among males and females over the age of 25, is expected to earn $60 million in the first three days of its release.
