Jessica Chastain secures a role in Tom Cruise's next flick

Jessica Chastain of Wilde Salome fame has reportedly bagged a key role in Tom Cruise's next film. The actress has been signed to play the character of the actor's love interest in the untitled Hollywood movie.

Reports say that Jessica Chastain has successfully managed to put behind the actresses like Oivia Wilde, Brit Marling and Noomi Rapace, who were also being considered for the role. The movie also features another actress, who will perform the character of Tom Cruise's wife, whereas Jessica will play the role of a mysterious lover.

The fiction movie by Universal Pictures is directed by Joseph Kosinski of Tron Legacy. William Monahan and Karl Gajdusek have written the script and the movie will hit the screens on July 19, 2013.
