Reports claim that Justin Lin has temporarily dropped his plans of making Terminator 5 due to date conflicts. The filmmaker has to finish the untitled sixth instatement of the Fast and Furious franchise for Universal Picture by the end of 2012.
It is said that Justin Lin is still interested to take up Terminator 5. He might come back if the lead actor Arnold Schwarzenegger and producer Megan Ellison wait for him until he wraps up Fast and Furious 6.
Megan Ellison acquired the rights of the Terminator franchise earlier this year. He has shelled out $20 million for the film. However, he is yet to hire a script writer and the distributors for the film.
Justin Lin is unlikely to direct the proposed project, Terminator 5. The filmmaker has reportedly preferred Fast and Furious 5 over it.
