Keanu
Reeves,
who
was
offered
to
play
the
key
role
in
forthcoming
film
Akira,
has
walked
out
of
the
project.
The
negotiations
between
the
actor
and
the
production
house
failed
after
prolonged
discussions,
say
reports.
The
movie
bosses,
who
does
not
want
to
halt
the
movie,
are
in
hunt
of
A-list
actor
to
replace
Keanu
Reeves.
"Production
on
Akira
has
not
halted
or
been
shut
down,
as
the
film
has
not
yet
been
greenlit
and
is
still
very
much
in
the
development
stage," a
leading
portal
quoted,
an
official
of
Warner
Bros.
Pictures
as
saying.
Meanwhile,
Albert
Hughes
and
Steve
Kloves
have
decided
to
rewrite
the
script
to
reduce
the
budget
of
the
film.
The
budget,
was
estimated
$140-million
earlier.
However,
Akira
is
the
screen-adaptation
of
Katsuhiro
Otomo's
graphic
novel.
