Rooney Mara considered for Oldboy remake

Rooney Mara of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo fame is reportedly being considered for a key role in the remake of Oldboy. The makers of the film are planning to cast her in the character named Marie.

Reports say that the makers of the film are yet to officially offer the role but the movie bosses feel that the actress will be the perfect choice for the character. The makers of the film are expected to finalise the deal soon.

The movie is the remake of Korean revenge thriller Oldboy, which was directed by Park Chan-wook. It is all about an middle-aged man, who was prisoned for 15 years without telling him the reason behind his sentence. After releasing from the jail, he seeks revenge against those who made him to spend his precious years in jail for no reason.

Doug Davidson and Roy Lee are producing the film, which is written by Mark Protosevich. Christian Bale and Josh Brolin are also reportedly playing the key roles in the forthcoming Hollywood movie.
