Tom Hanks to present at the Academy Awards

BEVERLY HILLS, CALIFORNIA: Two-time Academy Award-winning actor Tom Hanks will present at the 83rd Academy Awards ceremony, better known as the Oscars, telecast producers Bruce Cohen and Don Mischer announced on Tuesday.

Hanks, who is a governor of the Academy, won consecutive Oscars in 1993 and 1994 for his leading performances in "Philadelphia" and "Forrest Gump." He also has been nominated for his leading roles in "Big," "Saving Private Ryan" and "Cast Away."

Hanks recently lent his voice to the character Woody in the Best Picture nominee "Toy Story 3." He will be seen next in "Larry Crowne," on which he also served as director, co-writer and producer. His other film credits include "Charlie Wilson's War," "The Da Vinci Code," "The Terminal," "Catch Me If You Can," "Road to Perdition," "Apollo 13" and "A League of Their Own."

The Oscars will be presented live on February 27 at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood and will be televised live in more than 200 countries worldwide. The show will be hosted by actor James Franco, 32, and actress Anne Hathaway, 28.

Franco can currently be seen in "127 Hours" but is also known for his roles in movies such as "Eat, Love, Pray," "Date Night," "Milk" and "Pineapple Express." He is also known for his portrayals of Harry Osborn in the "Spider-Man" trilogy.

Hathaway was recently seen in "Alice in Wonderland" and currently can be seen in "Love and Other Drugs." Other films include "Bride Wars," "Becoming Jane," "The Devil Wears Prada" and "The Princess Diaries." She was nominated for an Oscar in 2008 for her lead performance in "Rachel Getting Married."

For this year, Best Picture nominees include "The Social Network" with 8 nominations, "The King's Speech" with 12 nominations and "True Grit" with 10 nominations.
