Will Smith may judge US version of X Factor

Melbourne (ANI): Hollywood actor Will Smith has reportedly been signed by British pop mogul Simon Cowell to be a judge on the American version of 'The X Factor". Smith is apparently set to join UK singer Cheryl Cole and another as yet unnamed female judge for the launch of the show in 2011.

"Simon thinks Will and Cheryl will be a brilliant formula. He's one of the biggest names in America, and considered to be a talented musician as well as actor," the Herald Sun quoted a source as telling the Sunday Mirror. "Simon is desperate to make the US X Factor the biggest show in the world. It is a completely new challenge and he is genuinely excited by it," added the source.

'The X Factor" is due to premiere in the US in September.
