Actress India Eisley, who came to limelight with
the movie Underworld: Awakening, has now bagged a pivotal
role in the upcoming movie Maleficent, which is directed by
Robert Stromberg. According to reports, the 15-year-old star will
play the younger version of actress Angelina Jolie in the movie.
Maleficent is based on the movie Sleeping
Beauty and it is told from the perspective of the princess'
evil nemesis, Maleficent. India Eisley will appear during the
opening act of the fantasy movie, which establishes the villainous
queen's role in her kingdom's hierarchy. The actress is expected to
start shooting for her portions in June.
However, Linda Woolverton has written the script based on the
classic Charles Perrault fairytale. Elle Fanning, Sharlto Copley,
Kenneth Cranham, Sam Riley, Miranda Richardson and Imelda Staunton
are playing the lead roles. Walt Disney Pictures has planned to
release it in the US on March 14, 2014.
