Katie Holmes has been featured in this week's People issue where the star has opened up about many things. Katie Holmes has always stayed mum over her failed marriage with Hollywood's heartthrob, Tom Cruise. Now, Katie has moved on and is enjoying life as a single mom. She has started afresh and is focusing on her work.
"I feel ready for new challenges," Holmes, who is set to make her directorial debut with "All We Had," added of her career. Talking about her new life, Katie Holmes said, "I don't have any fear now, I don't have a lot of rules for myself, and I don't take myself that seriously."
The 35-year-old actress is all set to make her comeback in TV with her hit role in a sequel to the 2011 Reelz miniseries "The Kennedys".
Katie doesn't like being known as the wife of an A-lister. The star wishes to have an identity of her own. "I don't want that moment in my life to define me, to be who I am," she said the magazine. "I don't want that to be what I'm known as. I was an actor before, an actor during and an actor now," Katie added.
The divorced couple have an 8-year-old daughter Suri Cruise together and Katie has been a single mom since divorce. Although the exes are sharing the daughter's custody, Katie is really happy and Suri means everything to her.
Katie and her daughter Suri have recently shifted to California and started afresh after leaving in New York with Tom Cruise for years. "I'm learning every day, and I have been since the minute I became a mom," Katie said.
