Reese Witherspoon On Shooting Naked Scene In Wild

Actress Reese Witherspoon, who signed up to play Cheryl Strayed in upcoming film 'Wild', said she wanted to be as real and truthful as possible.

The 38-year-old actress agreed to film some naked scenes for the big-screen adaptation. In an interview with the Vogue, Reese opened up about how difficult it was for her to shoot the naked scenes. "I had to make a choice when I decided to do the film on how much I wanted to bear. I have a real story to tell here because Cheryl was completely honest when she wrote her book." In fact Reese Witherspoon was so worried, she had to hire a hypnotist to film the bold scene.

"It (naked scene) was scary and challenging. It's not just a movie about somebody walking. It's really about someone who feels profoundly hurt and lost," she said. Witherspoon played a former heroin addict who decided to tackle a 1,100-mile hike after experiencing several tragic events, mainly a devastating divorce caused by drug use and infidelity. The mother-of-three is getting all kinds of Oscar buzz for her role. Reese won an Academy Award in 2005 for her portrayal of June Carter Cash in "Walk the Line."

Wild" is a film adaptation from a small book written by a Portland author. It is adapted by Nick Hornby and directed by Jean-Marc Vallée ("Dallas Buyers Club"). Wild is releasing on December 5th, 2014.
