Just
a
day
after
reports
of
Charlize
Theron
calling
off
her
engagement
spread,
the
official
US
trailer
of
her
upcoming
thriller,
'Dark
Places'
was
dropped.
The
U.S.
trailer
of
the
thriller
based
on
the
novel
of
same
name
by
Gillian
Flynn,
best-selling
author
of
Gone
Girl,
is
gripping.
After
the
insanely
hit
psycho
film,
Gone
Girl,
we
have
high
expectations
from
this
thriller.
Charlize
Theron
is
back
as
a
strong
woman
who
tries
to
get
over
her
troubled
childhood
with
the
murder
of
her
mother
and
two
sisters
as
she
tries
to
find
out
the
truth.
She
will
be
seen
yet
again
with
Nicholas
Hoult
after
co-starring
in
Mad
Max:
Fury
Road.
The
film
centers
around
Libby
(Theron),
a
woman
who,
as
an
eight-year-old
girl,
named
her
brother
(Corey
Stoll)
in
court
as
the
person
who
murdered
her
mother
and
two
sisters
on
their
rural
farm
in
Kansas.
Unfortunately
now,
the
money
Libby
received
from
well-wishers
and
supporters
has
all
but
dried
up,
and
she
is
looking
for
a
way
to
make
more.
She
agrees
to
appear
for
a
group
of
true-crime
aficionados
and
is
surprised
to
learn
that
most
of
these
members
in
the
group
do
not
believe
her
brother
is
the
murderer
of
her
family
members.
This
makes
her
question
her
decision
and
re-think
about
what
she
thought
she
saw
that
night.
Lyle,
one
of
the
crime-obsessed
club
members
(Nicholas
Hoult)
helps
Libby
find
out
if
her
brother
is
really
the
murderer
she
named
in
the
court.
Dark
Places
also
stars
Chlöe
Grace
Moretz,
Christina
Hendricks
and
Tye
Sheridan.
The
film
was
directed
by
Gilles
Paquet-Brenner.
The
thriller
will
be
released
in
U.S.
theaters
on
August
7th,
2015.
Meanwhile,
DirecTV
announced
on
Thursday
that
viewers
can
watch
"Dark
Places" on

Cinema
from

release.
A24

begin
the
theatrical
roll-out
on

7.
