One of the most talked about erotic movies of the year, Fifty Shades of Grey has got a shocking rating in France. Fifty Shades of Grey has been given the second lowest age rating in France! Children under 12 can also watch the movie which is releasing this Valentine's Day.

Yes, this comes as a shock as last week itself Fifty Shades of Grey was named most erotic mainstream movie in a decade. The movie features more sex on the big screen than the 100 raunchy films released in 2014 had together.

Children as young as 12 can watch the BDSM themed movie in France, thanks to the film rating given by France's Board of Film Classification.

Fifty Shades of Grey has got a 12 rating in France, which is the second lowest in the motion picture's system of the country out of the our grades - U, 12, 16 and 18.

Fifty Shades of Grey Gets 'Under-12' Rating In France!

The France's Board of Film Classification President, Jean-Francois Mary, called the movie a 'schmaltzy romance' and 'not a film that can shock a lot of people'. Jean-Francois Mary also said that Fifty Shades of Grey 'isn't a film that can shock a lot of people.'

France is well known to rate films with sexual content lower than many other countries like the U.S. and the UK. For example, Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise's infamous sex scene in 'Eyes Wide Shut' got an U rating in France while it got 18 rating in US and UK.

Fifty Shades, which stars Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele and Jamie Dornan as the BDSM-loving Christian Grey is now a meagre romance for people this V Day in France.
