PICS: Indian Stars Who Made It To The Oscars!

The 87th Academy Awards will have a no show for the Indian talent this year. But this does not mean that Indian stars have not made it to the Oscars before.

Some of the movies and music scores have made it to the biggest awards in the years gone by. 2015 might not have been lucky for the Indian cinema as expectations of getting 'Liar's Dice' in the Best Foreign Language film category shattered, however, if we take a look at the past, some of the Indian stars made the country proud by making it to the Oscars.

In 1958, Mehboob Khan's 'Mother India' became the first Indian movie to get nominated in the Best Foreign Language Category.

Indian talents such as AR Rahman and the first Oscar winner, Bhanu Athaiya already have the golden statuette decorated in their homes.
