Oscar
2015
nominations
had
its
own
surprises
and
snubs.
While
majority
of
the
predictions
we
did
on
Oscar
nominations
for
the
major
categories
have
turned
true
as
some
of
the
common
names
made
it
to
the
list.
However,
we
had
snubs
and
surprises
which
is
expected
every
year.
For
example,
Jennifer
Aniston
had
been
garnering
a
lot
of
Oscar
buzz
for
the
Best
Actress
category.
However,
the
Cake
actress
was
completely
snubbed
this
year
with
her
movie,
Cake
getting
nil
nominations.
Talking
about
surprises,
The
Grand
Budapest
Hotel
has
grabbed
majority
of
nominations
with
9
nods.
Similarly,
Birdman
too
got
9
nods.
However,
Boyhood
which
has
been
winning
ample
awards
this
season
did
not
rule
the
Oscar
nominations
chart.
The
coming-of-age
movie
has
got
6
nominations
along
with
American
Sniper.
One
of
the
biggest
surprises
was
Best
Actress
nominations.
No
we
are
not
talking
about
the
omission
of
Jennifer
Aniston
but
about
Marion
Cotillard.
Marion
for
the
second
time
got
an
Oscar
nomination
and
that
too
for
Best
Actress
again
from
a
foreign
language
film.
Hardly
Foreign
language
films
make
it
to
such
big
categories
especially
acting,
and
Marion
did
it
again
by
her
performance
in
Two
Days,
One
Night,
a
Belgian-Italian-French
drama
film
which
won
her
the
Best
Actress
Oscar
nomination
yet
again.
This
is
the
second
Oscar
nomination
for
Marion
who
has
already
won
one
in
the
same
category
for
La
Vie
En
Rose,
a
French
and
Canadian
biographical
musical
film
about
the
life
of
French
singer
Édith
Piaf.
Here
are
some
of
the
big
surprises
from
Oscar
nominations
2015.
Bradley
Cooper's
3rd
OScar
Nomination
In
A
Row!
This
is
the
third
time
in
a
row
where
Bradley
Cooper
got
an
Oscar
nomination.
Starting
from
2013's
Silver
Linings
Playbook
to
American
Sniper,
Bradley
Cooper
has
landed
in
the
elite
group
of
the
best
actors
who
had
got
Oscar
nominations
thrice
in
a
row.
Marion
Cotillard
Marion
Cotillard
surprised
us
this
year
by
grabbing
Best
Actress
nomination
at
the
Oscars
and
that
too
for
a
foreign
language
film.
Two
Nights,
On
Day
did
not
make
it
to
Foreign
Langauge
Film
category
but
landed
Marion
a
nod
for
Best
Actress
which
is
her
second
nomination
for
the
category.
Boyhood
Grabbing
Only
6
Nominations
In
this
award
season,
only
three
or
four
movies
are
most
talked
about
and
Boyhood
is
on
the
top.
The
coming-of-age
movie
has
however
got
only
6
nominations
at
the
Oscars.
Lauren
Dern
After
1992's
Oscar
nomination,
Lauren
did
not
appear
in
the
list
until
now.
However,
for
her
performance
as
Reese
Witherspoon's
on-screen
mother
in
Wild
gained
her
the
Best
Supporting
Actress
nomination.
Inherent
Vice
This
movie
did
not
garner
much
Oscar
buzz
but
got
the
nod
for
Best
Adapted
Screenplay.
The
movie
left
behind
one
of
the
most
acclaimed
hits,
Gone
Girl
behind!
The
Grand
Budapest
Hotel
Leads
One
of
the
biggest
Oscar
surprises
this
year
is
The
Grand
Budapest
Hotel.
The
comedy
movie
has
been
winning
this
award
season
and
giving
tough
competition
to
Boyhood
as
well.
But
we
did
not
expect
this
comedy
to
lead
this
year
nominations
with
9
nods!
