The first trailer for historical drama "Queen of the Desert" has
been dropped. The biographical film starring Nicole
Kidman, Robert Pattinson and James Franco
shows a blend of love, lust, passion, courage, strength and
an exotic filled adventure to the Middle East.
Queen of the Desert, directed by Werner Herzog, is based on the
life of Gertrude Bell (Nicole Kidman), a historian, writer, and
member of the British secret service who is revered as "the female
Lawrence of Arabia" for making an imprint on Middle Eastern
politics in the 1920s. She contributed to defining the new borders
in the region after the First World War.
The first trailer gives a glimpse at the relationship between
the characters played by Robert Pattinson and Nicole Kidman.
Pattinson plays 'Lawrence of Arabia' and Kidman as an explorer
helps establish the countries of Iraq and Jordan.
Also starring Damian Lewis, "Queen of the Desert" premiered at Berlin International Film Festival and is expected to
hit US theatres later this year.
