'San Andreas' To Beat 'Tomorrowland' At Box Office?

While the whole world awaits the release of the much anticipated earthquake epic drama, San Andreas, we are waiting to watch if the American disaster film will rule box office this weekend or not.

San Andreas is Dwayne Johnson's new action-adventure film which shows the fully destructed California where he plays a heroic helicopter pilot. However, the movie is garnering a lot of attention and is in the watch list of many fans worldwide.

The last weekend box office winner was George Clooney's Disney sci-fi film, Tomorrowland which collected $33,028,165 on its opening weekend, thanks to the Memorial Day weekend which gathered a lot of movie lovers to the theaters. The adventure movie, directed by two-time Oscar winner Brad Bird, was screened at 3,972 locations in US and Canada, Xinhua reported on Sunday.

The sci-fi film beat "Pitch Perfect 2" to take the first place at the North American box office with collections of $33 million till the third day of the extended Memorial Day weekend.

San Andreas will be released worldwide in 2D and 3D on May 29, 2015 and is expected to rule box office in the US on its opening weekend thus breaking Tomorrowland's records.

The epic stars Dwayne Johnson, Carla Gugino, Alexandra Daddario, and Paul Giamatti with a cameo appearance by Aussie beauty, Kylie Minogue. The cast has been traveling to different places for movie premieres the biggest being in London.

San Andreas is a movie which shows how Fire Department rescue-helicopter pilot (Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson) and his ex-wife (Carla Gugino) attempt to leave Los Angeles and head to San Francisco to find and rescue their daughter (Alexandra Daddario) after a devastating earthquake hits California, Los Angeles.
