'The Amazing Spider-Man 3' is moving forward despite rumoured
talks between Sony executives about replacing Andrew
Garfield as the main lead. A casting call for the movie has
emerged on Bill Beckman Casting, hinting that the studio is moving
forward with the project. So, Spider-Man fans can either breathe a
sigh of relief or get disappointed after reading this.
Before the release of The Amazing Spider-Man 2,
Sony had slotted in release dates for The Amazing Spider-Man 3 in
2016 and The Amazing Spider-Man 4 in 2018.
However, the third 'Amazing Spider-Man' movie was pushed back
from June 10, 2016 to an undetermined date in 2018 after 'The
Amazing Spider-Man 2' only brought in USD 709 million, the lowest
of any Spider-Man movie ever.
Spider-Man 2 was a real disappointment at the box office and the
story also failed to win the hearts. Thus, Sony Pictures decided to
delay the next installment further.
The fourth installment, meanwhile, is no longer listed on the
studio's schedule. Regarding the casting, both Andrew Garfield
(Peter Parker/Spider-Man) and Dane DeHaan (Harry Osborn/Green
Goblin) will be returning for another adventure that will see
Spidey "facing a new challenge to protect New York City.
