So, Sony decided to call the Ghostbusters again? Well, if reports are to be believed, that is well on the cards for the franchisee, as they are well--elated with the plan to boost up with a sequel to their recently released, all-female reboot of the 1984 classic Ghostbusters movie.
The 2016 remake of the original piece which grabbed a huge success then, took a long time to bloom in a remake version. It's almost after thirty years, that director Paul Feig regrouped all the elements to fight paranormal activities and save New York City, joined by Chris Hemsworth, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, Kristen Wiig and Leslie Jones.
It is also learned that, Rory Bruer, the President of the Sony - Worldwide Distribution, has made a positive statement regarding the development. "The 'Ghostbusters' world is alive and well.I expect 'Ghostbusters' to become an important brand and franchise. While nothing has been officially announced yet, there's no doubt in my mind it will happen," he added.
Although, it is not yet clear that the same cast would be retained or the director, there are no indications as well that they would'nt.
The 2016 reboot of the movie did well in the box-office, climbing to the second spot during its first weekend of release, charting an estimate of around 46 Million dollars from 3,963 screens played.
