Daniel
Radcliffe
thinks
people
view
him
as
a
feminist.
The
Harry
Potter
famed
actor
insists
upon
the
fact
that
he
is
well
versed
in
the
art
of
appreciating
women,
but
he
also
feels
that
there
is
an
"absolute
dearth
of
roles" for
women
in
the
entertainment
industry.
"It's
sad
that
people
are
having
to
come
out
as
feminist,"
said
Daniel.
He
further
added,
"I
thought
we'd
have
got
beyond
this
point.
I
would
hope
it
would
be
assumed
of
me
that
I
was
one.
You
see
amazing
male
characters,
and
there
is
an
absolute
dearth
of
roles
for
women."
However,
the
27-year-old
star
had
earlier
admitted
that
he
"naively
thought"
there
was
no
gender
equality
issue
prevailing
in
Hollywood.
"It
is
nuts
to
me.
I'm
incredibly
glad
gender
equality
has
come
up
because
I
had
just
f***ing
naively
thought
this
was
not
an
issue
any
more
because
how
can
this
still
be
happening?"
he
added.
"It's
crazy.
It
is
definitely
the
time
for
our
industry
to
step
up.
Especially
if
we
want
to
pride
ourselves
on
being
a
liberal,
progressive
industry
then
you
can't
be
doing
that."
Daniel
said
further.
That
was
not
all,
Daniel
was
"shocked"
to
know
that
men
and
women
are
still
paid
differently
for
the
similar
roles
in
movies,
in
Hollywood.
