British actress Eleanor Tomlinson, who has been highly impressed by the Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence's performances, went all praises for the actress, says she has opened up a new horizon for other women actresses in the films.
Poldark star Tomlinson is all impressed by Lawrence, mainly because of the fact that she has shown the world that women can spearhead movie genres basically associated with all men stars alongside. And that it can be a diverse category from just depicting love interests in the movie.
"Jennifer has really opened up a whole category of films for women. There are now superhero movies fronted by women and I think directors generally are moving away from that stereotypical woman's role that is just about being flirted with by a man before falling into his arms," she said.
Tomlinson also said that she has become bored with the theme of women in distress in the movie. She is now happy that the scenario is changing and that women are now being casted as the lead protagonists, with exclusive storylines made for them.
"I'm not interested in being the damsel in distress; I want someone who has her own storyline and her own mission - not a woman who, to use a comedy term, is just there to provide the feed line to someone else's joke." Tomlinson added.
