The renowned Game Of Thrones author and novelist George R. R. Martin believes that the very popular American sci-fi western drama series titled Westworld may win the forthcoming prestigious Golden Globe Awards in the fantasy category.

"Being an HBO guy, I'm thrilled that to see that both Game Of Thrones and Westworld have been nominated for the big prize... though Westworld is going to be some tough competition," said George R. R. Martin in a statement.

Martin continued to say he was delighted for the particular genre being recognised and popular among the people. He said he was happy that even the Stranger Things made it into the list of nominees.

"In fact, I would figure WW for the favorite. And as a science fiction and fantasy geek, I am also delighted to see that Stranger Things made the list. Three out of five finalists being genre shows and during this golden age of television is another sign of just how far we've come." Martin added.

"You don't 'compete' against Game of Thrones so much as be happy you're in the same conversation. That's a magnificent show and we're thrilled and flattered to be in the same conversation." Martin wrote in his blogpost.
