novelist
George
R.
R.
Martin
believes
that
the
very
popular
American
sci-fi
western
drama
series
titled
Westworld
may
win
the
forthcoming
prestigious
Golden
Globe
Awards
in
the
fantasy
category.
"Being
an
HBO
guy,
I'm
thrilled
that
to
see
that
both
Game
Of
Thrones
and
Westworld
have
been
nominated
for
the
big
prize...
though
Westworld
is
going
to
be
some
tough
competition," said
George
R.
R.
Martin
in
a
statement.
Martin
continued
to
say
he
was
delighted
for
the
particular
genre
being
recognised
and
popular
among
the
people.
He
said
he
was
happy
that
even
the
Stranger
Things
made
it
into
the
list
of
nominees.
"In
fact,
I
would
figure
WW
for
the
favorite.
And
as
a
science
fiction
and
fantasy
geek,
I
am
also
delighted
to
see
that
Stranger
Things
made
the
list.
Three
out
of
five
finalists
being
genre
shows
and
during
this
golden
age
of
television
is
another
sign
of
just
how
far
we've
come."
Martin
added.
"You
don't
'compete' against
Game
of
Thrones
so
much
as
be
happy
you're
in
the
same
conversation.
That's
a
magnificent
show
and
we're
thrilled
and
flattered
to
be
in
the
same
conversation."
