Lily Collins Forgives Her Father Despite Failing To Live Up To Her Expectations

Celebrated Hollywood actress Lily Collins in her books titled Unfiltered: No Shame, No Regrets, Just Me, has revealed her entire personal life and experiences and also mentioned about the relationship with her father, singer Phil Collins.

In her essay, Lily Collins wrote about her father and expressed her grievance. She stated that her father was not present when she needed him the most. However, Collins also explained that it was probably due to his profession, and she has now forgiven him for that.

"Because my dad was often gone, I never wanted to do anything that would make him stay away even longer," Lily Collins wrote in her book.

"I became extra careful about what I said and how I said it, afraid he'd think I was angry or didn't love him. And the truth is, I was angry. I missed him and wanted him there," she added further.

In her book, Lily Collins also mentioned about the strained relationship of her parents and how the divorce of her parents affected her throughout her life.

"I forgive you for not always being there when I needed and for not being the dad I expected. I forgive the mistakes you made. There's still so much time to move forward. And I want to. I'm inviting you to join me. I'll always be your little girl," Lily Collins stated further.
