Oscar
Nominations
this
year
is
going
to
ditch
the
traditional
live
audience
announcement
and
is
shifting
in
for
an
online
format.
This
change
is
going
to
be
phenomenal
since
it
is
the
first
time
in
the
history
of
the
Academy
Awards
that
the
nominations
will
be
announced
online.
According
to
the
latest
scheme,
the
nominees
will
be
announced
by
an
array
of
former
Oscar
winners.
And
the
event
will
be
aired
online
and
also
in
the
TV
channels
on
Tuesday,
24th
of
January
2017
at
5:18
AM
PT
which
is
almost
6:48
PM,
according
to
IST.
The
list
of
the
past
winners
who
are
inducted
for
nominations
includes-
Brie
Larson,
Jennifer
Hudson,
Jason
Reitman,
Ken
Watanabe
and
Emmanuel
Lubezki
along
with
Cheryl
Boone
Isaacs,
the
Academy
President,
who
will
provide
insights
and
welcome
new
nominees
this
year.
"In
a
departure
from
our
tradition
of
a
live
audience
at
the
Academy,
this
year's
nominations
will
be
announced
via
a
global
live
stream
on
Oscar.com,
Oscars.org,
the
Academy's
digital
platforms,
a
satellite
feed,
and
local
broadcasters,
including
'Good
Morning
America," said
an
Acadamy
release.
The
new
change
in
the
Oscar
Nominations
has
been
pushed
forward
as
the
institution
has
been
trying
to
grab
a
larger
online
presence
right
from
the
promotions
to
the
Award
declaration
event.
They
also
have
sent
invitations
for
joining
the
AMPAS
by
e-mail
instead
of
postal
mail.
The
new
format
also
ensures
less
toil
for
publicists
and
press,
as
they
can
cover
all
the
Oscar
news
from
the
comfort
of
their
homes.
