Third time certainly went lucky for the celebrated Hollywood
actress Viola Davis, who has won an Oscar for the first time in her
career with Hollywood film industry after getting nominated
Viola Davis won the award for the Best Actress in a Supporting
Role for the movie Fences directed by talented actor-director
Denzel Washington, where she portrayed the character of Rose
Maxson, a devoted wife and mother.
Davis after getting the golden statue in his hand, could not
hold her tears as she went all emotional for her first Oscar win.
She thanked all her cast and crew of the film and mentioned the
"Thank you to the Academy. You know, there's one place that all
the people with the greatest potential are gathered. One place and
that's the graveyard." Said the actress afrer getting her first
"People ask me all the time, what kind of stories do you want to
tell, Viola? And I say, exhume those bodies. Exhume those stories.
The stories of the people who dreamt big and never saw those dreams
to fruition." Viola Davis added.
"People who fell in love and lost. I became an artiste, and
thank God I did, because we are the only profession that celebrates
what it means to live a life," the actress added further.
After her speech, the host Jimmy Kimmel made a joke saying she
now got another nomination at the Emmy for making all of them cry
with her Oscar acceptance speech.
