In
what
came
as
a
shocking
incident,
the
crew
of
the
Titan
submersible
has
reportedly
died
in
a
'catastrophic
implosion'.
It
is
reported
that
the
operated
vehicle,
with
five
men
onboard,
was
on
the
tour
of
the
Titanic
wreckage
site
which
is
two
miles
beneath
the
ocean
surface.
While
all
onboard
the
submersible
is
feared
to
be
dead,
the
owner
of
the
missing
submersible
OcenGate
released
an
official
statement
in
this
regard.
The
company
said,
"We
now
believe
that
our
CEO
Stockton
Rush,
Shahzada
Dawood
and
his
son
Suleman
Dawood,
Hamish
Harding,
and
Paul-Henri
Nargeolet,
have
sadly
been
lost.
We
grieve
the
loss
of
life
and
joy
they
brought
to
everyone
they
knew."
The
news
has
undoubtedly
broken
a
millions
of
hearts
and
has
left
everyone
brimming
with
an
opinion.
Amid
this,
ace
filmmaker
James
Cameron
has
struck
by
the
similarity
between
the
Titan
tragedy
and
the
Titanic
disaster
which
took
place
in
1912.
For
the
uninitiated,
James
Cameron
happens
to
be
the
director
of
Titanic
which
had
shown
the
footage
of
the
actual
Titanic
wreck
site.
Talking
to
ABC
News,
Cameron
said,
"I'm
struck
by
the
similarity
of
the
Titanic
disaster
itself,
where
the
captain
was
repeatedly
warned
about
ice
ahead
of
his
ship
and
yet
he
steamed
at
full
speed
into
an
ice
field
on
a
moonless
night
and
many
died
as
a
result.
It's
a
very
similar
tragedy
at
the
exact
same
site.
It's
astonishing
and
really
quite
surreal".
In
fact,
James
Cameron
also
emphasised
that
the
news
of
tragedy
came
with
a
'zero
surprise'
for
him.
"This
thing
seemed
like
a
prolonged
nightmare," he
added.
He
also
revealed
that
he
was
quite
close
to
one
of
the
Titan
passengers
Paul-Henri
Nargeolet
who
was
a
legendary
French
pilot.
The
duo
had
known
each
other
for
around
25
years.
And
while
the
news
of
his
unfortunate
demise
has
shocked
Cameron,
the
filmmaker
admitted
that
it
is
'impossible
to
process'
Nargeolet's
tragic
death
in
the
submersible
tragedy.
Meanwhile,
he
has
sent
his
condolence
to
the
families
of
the
deceased
who
were
given
false
hopes
for
4
days.
