Earlier, director Raghava Lokhi has dealt with the love story of mad guy in the movie Satya in Love, which featured Hattrick hero Shivaraj Kumar and Genelia. But the movie utterly failed to meet his expectation. Now, he has comeback again with the same old theme with comedian Jaggesh son, debutant Gururaj as hero.

Kannada movie Gilli is a remake of Selvaraghavan's hit Tamil film 7G Rainbow Colony. The director has taken the storyline from original and has scripted it well according to the taste of the Kannada audiences. He seems to have done lot of hard work in adapting the original to Kannada.

The movie is beautiful love story of a wayward guy turning good to gain his love. But the director seems to have stumbled in maintaining the tempo in the first half. The boring narration drives the audiences out of the theatre to relax. However, in the second the story takes serious mode and makes the audiences tighten their seatbelts.
