Pattabhiram accepts failure

The much hyped Kannada film Gandugali Kumara Rama made at a whopping cost of Rs.8 crores by producer M.R.Pattabhiram has been disastrous at the box office he admits. I have got the signal when my wife telephoned on the second day of the film from Navrang theatre in Bangalore informed the Gandhian producer Pattabhiram who does not believe in false prestige or artificial creation of publicity.

Look at the daringness and frankness of the producer. He calls a press meet to disclose this piece of information. He wonders even now why the film is not able to return his investment. "It is a catastrophe at the box office". I intended to get just one rupee over the investment not anything more than that. But Gandugali Kumara Rama the historical film has been a total failure he pats at his destiny.

"Certainly the film has not done well" avers Pattabhiram. Perhaps none of the producer in the history of Kannada cinema at the second week of the release has been so much outspoken.

The consolation has already come from Dr.Rajkumar family for the total failure of Gandugali Kumara Rama. Smt.Parvathamma Rajkumar, Shivarajkumar and Puneeth Rajkumar have assured to be to his side for the unexpected failure of Gandugali Kumara Rama.

For last Monday media briefing in the board room of Pattabhiram the director of the film H.R.Bhargava was not seen. "Out of 43 theatres showing 'GKR' the 40 to 50 percent collection is there in only 4 to 5 theatres" admits Pattabhiram. He said again and again the film GKR is a wash out.

We have not seen this type of producer admitting the real facts of the film at the 11th day of its showing. Have you?
