After
her
successful
Bollywood
debut
in
2007
with
Farah
Khan's
Om
Shanti
Om
opposite
Shahrukh
Khan,
actress
deepika
padukone
has
been
away
from
home
almost
continuously
due
to
her
popularity
and
hectic
schedule.
Deepika
is
now
just
waiting
for
Ganesh
Chaturthi
(September
3)
to
spend
some
quality
time
with
her
family
in
her
city,
Bangalore,
where
she
was
brought
up.
Deepika
was
born
in
Copenhagen,
Denmark
and
her
family
moved
to
Bangalore
when
she
was
just
eleven
months
old.
After
the
jackpot
with
Om
Shanti
Om,
she
would
either
be
shooting
out
of
the
country
or
just
be
busy
in
Mumbai.
"I
haven't
been
to
my
home
in
Bangalore
for
three
years.
It's
been
a
really
hectic
time
for
me," Deepika
said.
Ganesh
Chaturthi
is
a
very
big
event
in
Bangalore.
"It
is
a
time
when
my
entire
family,
including
my
sister,
come
together
or
whatever
remains
of
the
family
in
Bangalore.
I've
missed
the
occasion
for
the
past
three
years.
So
I
can't
help
it.
I've
to
go
home
now,"
she
said.
This
pretty
actress,
who
has
been
voted
as
the
world's
sexiest
woman
by
'Maxim
HOT
100',
the
Mumbai-based
popular
men's
lifestyle
magazine,
is
always
thrilled
whenever
she
talks
about
her
family.
Her
father
Prakash
Padukone
is
a
badminton
player
of
international
repute
and
her
mother
is
a
travel
agent.
While
Deepika
chose
acting
as
her
profession,
younger
sister
Alisha
is
a
professional
golfer.
"My
sister
is
five
years
younger
to
me.
I
sometimes
envy
my
sister.
She
has
gone
into
sports
like
my
father.
And
she
gets
to
play
golf
professionally.
That's
a
unique
position
for
a
19-year-old
to
be
in.
Acting
seems
rather
ordinary
in
comparison."
However,
Deepika's
sister
was
recently
offered
a
role
in
a
Kannada
film.
"That's
right;
she
has
been
offered
a
Kannada
film.
But
she's
absolutely
not
interested
in
a
film
career.
One
actress
in
the
family
is
enough,"
she
laughed.
