12 Kannada films to be screened in IFFI-2008

A dozen Kannada films have been selected for International Film Festival of India IFFI-2008 as Kannada Cinema Industry is celebrating its 75th anniversary. International Film Fest will start from 22 November in Panaji, Goa.

Girish Kasaravali's Gulabi Takies, Umashankar's Banada Neralu, Abhaya Singh's Gubbachchi will be screened in Indian Panorama film section. Kannada 'Putti' has been selected for documentary film section. TS Nagabharana's Nagamandala, Girish Kasaravali's Dweep, Hunsur Krishnamurty's historical movie Babroovahana, S Siddalingayya's Bhootayyana Maga Ayyu will also be screened in the ten days film fest. Popular actress B Sarojadevi will be honoured during the occasion.

IFFI 2008 judges committee has selected 104 films and 20 documentary films for Indian panorama. The president of judges committee is KNT Shastri, who is also from Karnataka. The intention of the film fest is to showcase the the beauty consciousness, storyline and cinema.
