In
dreams,
we
enter
a
world
that
is
entirely
our
own!
When
actress
Lakshmi
Rai
dreamt
of
Bollywood,
she
never
thought
she
would
one
day
enter
there
since
it
was
just
a
dream.
But
some
dreams
come
true
and
leave
us
overjoyed!
"I
have
waited
for
long
for
a
Hindi
film
offer.
I
have
got
it
at
last," says
Karnataka-born
Lakshmi
Rai,
who
plays
the
role
of
a
Punjabi
girl
in
the
upcoming
Bollywood
film
Hey
Gujju
opposite
singer-actor
Himesh
Reshammiya,
directed
by
Satish
Kaushik.
"Bagging
this
Hindi
film
is
the
best
thing
that
has
happened
in
my
career.
Since
Himesh
is
the
hero,
I'm
sure
the
film
will
be
well
publicized
and
will
be
a
huge
project," said
a
delighted
Lakshmi,
who
made
her
presence
felt
in
Malayalam
and
Kannada
cinema
opposite
top
stars
like
Mohanlal
and
Mammootty.
Lakshmi
said
that
she
was
able
to
receive
this
offer
only
because
she
looks
like
a
Punjabi
girl.
"Since
many
of
my
classmates
at
college
were
Punjabis,
I
am
quite
familiar
with
the
way
they
dress,
talk,
walk
and
so
on.
I
have
projected
a
glamorous
image
in
the
song
sequences
which
have
been
shot
in
grand
sets
in
Mumbai.
I
am
now
receiving
some
more
Hindi
film
offers."
However,
the
actress
assures
that
despite
stepping
into
Bollywood,
she
would
continue
to
act
in
films
down
South.
"Signing
a
Hindi
film
does
not
mean
that
I
will
not
be
part
of
South
Indian
films.
I
am
looking
forward
to
the
release
of
my
two
Tamil
films
Dhaam
Dhoom
in
which
I
am
paired
with
Jeyam
Ravi,
and
Muthirai
with
Nithin
Sathya
and
Daniel
Balaji.
I
have
decided
to
accept
good
Tamil
projects
in
future
as
well," said
Lakshmi.
The
young
actress
made
her
foray
into
Kannada
films
recently
with
Snehana
Preethina
opposite
Darshan.
Her
second
Kannada
film,
Minchina
Ota
with
Vijaya
Raghavendra
and
his
brother
Murali,
has
evoked
mixed
response.
