After
Karnataka
Government
announcing
total
rebate
on
remake
movies,
Kannada
directors
and
producers
are
looking
at
popular
South
Indian
films.
They
have
tried
to
remake
several
movies
in
Kannada.
Now
MD
Shridhar
is
preparing
to
remake
popular
Telugu
movie
Pokiri
in
Kannada.
Prince
Mahesh
Babu
starrer
Pokiri
has
broken
all
the
at
Telugu
Box
Office.
The
movie
was
directed
by
Puri
Jagannath.
Now
Shridhar,
who
has
bought
the
rights
of
the
movie
for
18
lakhs,
says
that
Kannada
audiences
will
also
like
the
storyline
of
the
movie.
According
to
Kannada
film
industry
sources,
challenging
star
Darshan
will
play
the
lead
in
the
movie.
Now
Shridhar
is
busy
with
his
forthcoming
movie
Jolly
Days,
which
is
set
to
release
in
the
second
week
of
December.
Jolly
Days
is
a
remake
of
Telugu
movie
Happy
Days.
Shridhar
defends
remaking
by
saying,
"There
is
nothing
wrong
in
remaking
popular
Tamil,
Telugu,
Malayalam
movies
in
Kannada.
I
would
like
to
remake
the
movies
with
interesting
storyline."
"Pokiri
was
released
with
250
prints
in
India
and
overseas.
No
other
movie
is
able
to
break
the
record
at
the
Box
Office
set
by
Pokiri.
So
I
don't
think
there
is
anything
wrong
with
remaking
the
movie,
which
has
got
such
huge
popularity.
I've
already
met
Darshan
for
the
lead
role
and
negotiation
is
going
for
the
same.
I
hope
to
bring
in
a
superstar
of
Kannada
film
as
the
hero
of
the
movie," he
adds.
