She feels this award is a great achievement for she never knew she could act before entering filmdom. She never participated in a school play or dance competition but she wanted to be an actress and just followed her instincts. The fact that she won the award justifies her decision and her parents are also happy now.
Smitha's character in Avva, that of an innocent young girl, was portrayed with conviction. Smitha says she has become more confident after winning the award and she has started believing in her talents ever more. The fact that this lovely actress has never won an award even in school makes the State award all the more sweet for her.
