According to the sources, she was forced to contest the Lok Sabha Election 2009 from Chikballapur Lok Sabha constituency in Karnataka, but It was canceled due to some reasons. She said, "I have already started Election campaign and completed the campaign in Mangalore and several other places. I have decided to beg votes for the BJP in Karnataka and campaign through out the state."
"I'm impressed by the principles of the BJP and Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa is the source of inspiration for me. His party has given good position for women. I have lot of interest in social service especially in women. So I have joined the party to uplift the women in Karnataka," she added.
She also remembered Yediyurappa considering her as his daughter during AKKA Summit in America. IT and BT affairs Minister, Katta Subramanya Naidu, Transport Minister, R Ashok and many other BJP leaders were present on the occasion.
National Award winner Kannada actress Tara has made her entry into the BJP in the presence of Karnataka state BJP President, Sadanada Gowda on Sunday. She has joined the party without any condition and will not contest Lok Sabha Election from any constituency. But she will participate in state wide Election campaign.
