31 Kannada films selected for govt subsidy
Twenty six Kannada films have been selected for the government subsidy by the Quality Subsidy Committee. The list includes movies like Daatu, Janapada, Aa Dinagalu, Meera Madhava Raghava, Avva, Pallakki, Milana, Lancha Samrajya, Karunadu, Deemanth Manushya, Kusuma, Birse (Tulu), Yuga Yugagale Sagali, Ninnade Nenapu, Amrithavani, Sneha Sarpa, Saundarya, Gandan Mane, Ee Preethi Onthara, Nanu Gandhi, Laddu Muthya Maha Mahime, Kai Thuthu, Beladingalagi Ba, Shivani, Honganasu and Hani Hani.

Besides these, the children's movies like Chilipil Hakkigalu and Ekalavya and three Historical and cultural movies like Danamma Devi, Navashakthi Vaibhava and Renukacharya Mahatme have also been chosen for the government subsidy. Karnataka government will offer subsidy of Rs. 10 to 26 quality movies, Rs. 25 lakhs to two children's movies and three Historical and cultural movies.

The Quality Subsidy Committee had selected 26 quality movies, two children's movies and three Historical and cultural movies for the year 2007-2008. According to the recommendations of that committee, the government is giving the subsidy to these movies. However, Siddalingayya was the president and journalist Laxman Kodase, Artiste AT Raghu and writer K Veerabhandrappa were the members of selection committee.
