Dr. Jayamala explained about the festivities to be conducted during the 3-day festival. The first day will see many cultural programmes performed by the Sandalwood celebrities; the second day will see the release of 75 books on prominent Kannada film personalities. Also, 108 prominent people from the film industry will be honoured for their contributions to Kannada cinema. Seminars on various topics concerning cinema will be conducted. The third day will feature cultural programmes artists prominent in art forms other than cinema.
The inauguration ceremony, lasting one hour, will be held at 6 p.m. on March 1st.
On Friday, KFCC president Dr. Jayamala conducted a media briefing regarding the celebrations of 'Amrutha Mahotsava' to celebrate the completion of 75 years of Kannada cinema. Parvathamma Rajkumar, Dr. B. Saroja Devi, Dr. Srinath, V.L. Rajesh, head of marketing, ITC Foods and K. Vijaya Kumar, CEO, Udaya TV, were present during the meet. A fifteen-day holiday for Sandalwood was announced to enable every one to participate in the festivities to be conducted on March 1, 2 and 3.
