Mungaru Male set to be remade in Hindi

Ganesh-Pooja Gandhi starrer superhit Kannada movie Mungaru Male, which created a new record at the Box Office is all set to be remade in Hindi. Poplar Bollywood actress Shridevi's husband producer Boni Kapoor is planning to remake the movie in Hindi.

Mungaru Male has not only set records, but it has also given life to many big film personalities in Kannada film industry. The movie brought golden future for actors like Ganesh and Pooja Gandhi. It also got recognition to today's popular director Yogaraj Bhat, script writer Preetham Gubbi and lyrist Jayanth Kaikini.

The Kannada movie has already been remade as Vaana in Telugu and as Prem Kahini in Bengali. Immediately after the release of the movie, director Dayal had bought its rights. He is said to have sold the rights to producer Boni Kapoor for Rs. 1 crore.

National Award winning director and cameraman Santosh Shivan will direct the Hindi remake. Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na fame actor Imran Khan or Saawariya fame Randhir kapoor will be play the lead role. The producer is yet think about the heroine and other cast.

Telugu remake Vaana was utter flop at the Box Office, while Bengali remake Prem Kahini was a big success. It is really curious to think about how the Hindi remake will do. However, it is really a matter of pride that Mungaru Male is being remade in Hindi, when hundreds of movies from other languages are being remade in Kannada.
