Ramesh Aravind:King of Comedy

Ramesh Aravind, known as one of the most versatile Kannada actors, has acted in Kannada, Telugu and Tamil movies. This mechanical engineer turned actor has been involved in films for more than two decades and for the past two years, he has been into direction also. His latest directorial venture Venkata in Sankata, a comedy film in which he has also donned the lead role, is on the number one spot and is gaining popularity day by day.

Ramesh was interested in acting from a very young age and used to participate in college plays. It was director K. Balachander who first recognized Ramesh"s talents and he gave him an opportunity to act in Sundara Swapnagalu. It was followed by several memorable films like Panchamaveda, Srigandha and Aragini. In Telugu, Rameshappeared in Little Soldiers, Rudraveena, Sathileelavathi, etc. He also entered into Tamil films and acted in Keladi Kanmani, Duet and many others.

After doing several Tamil films, Ramesh went back to Kannada and acted in successful films like Anuraga Sangama, Ulta Palta, Tutta Mutta, Chandramukhi Pranasakhi, Gombe, Nammura Mandara Hoove, America America, Hoomale, Deepavali and Sneha Loka. He had nine 100 days films in a row, which is a record. Ramesh received the Best actor Karnataka State award twice: in 1997 for America! America! and in 1999 for Hoomale.

He forayed into direction with the super hit Rama Shama Bhama featuring Kamal Hassan, Urvashi and Daisy Bhopanana. Satyavan Savithri (comedy) and Accident (thriller) followed; then he directed Venkata in Sankata, which released a few weeks ago.

He has already proven that he is one of the best natural actors and the success of his directorial ventures is evidence that Ramesh Aravind definitely has a flair for comedy.
