Shreemati heading towards the final lap

The talkie portions of Shreemati are almost over. Shreemati has completed two schedules; one more schedule is planned abroad for the remaining talkie portions and a few songs. Sampath is the director; Upendra has written the story, screenplay and dialogues.

There are two heroines; Upendra"s wife Priyanka, who is a former actress and Celina Jaitley. It is heard that the film is a remake of Aitraaz (Hindi) directed by Abbas Mastan, featuring Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra. (Aitraaz, in turn, was the remake of the Demi Moore starrer Disclosure.) Aitraaz won Priyanka Chopra a Filmfare Best Villain Award. Interestingly, when Celina was offered this role, she rejected it since the character had negative shades. Later, Priyanaka Chopra did it with fervour and received rave reviews from critics and fans alike.

After Shreemati, Upendra will join the shooting of Rajini.
