Addressing the media on Tuesday, actress Srilatha revealed the injustice done by her husband Bharat Chandra Shetty. She said, "I've already met the District Commissioner and requested him to get my husband back to me within 48 hours. If not, I'll start fasting in front of DC office until I get justice."
The actress is basically from Mangalore, but she often traveled between Mangalore and Bangalore for the shooting of her serials earlier. During this time, she became familier to KSRTC bus driver Bharat Chandra Shetty. She fell in love with him. Before marriage, she became pregnant with Bharat's child. Later, both of them got married at Kundeshwar Temple Kundapur and stayed in a rented house in Shirur.
Srilatha met Bharat's family when he did not come home after three months of their marriage. But they asked her to bring Rs. 5 lakhs dowry. They even forced her to convert to Jain religion. She shifted to Spoorthidhama Ashram. Now, she is eight months pregnant. She is staying away from all her family members and relatives. She loves her husband and she wants him back to her.
With the help of women association, she has registered a complaint against Bharat at Halsur Gate Police Station. She has even met Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa and Home Minister VS Acharya and requested them to get her justice. Despite their orders, Bhatkal police have failed to get her justice.
Finally, she has surrendered to the media asking them to get her justice. Keshav Koteshwar, the secretary of Spoorthidhama Ashram and B Savitha of Manasa Ladies Association were present on the occasion to support her.
Small Screen actress Srilatha, who has acted in Kannada TV serials like 'Manasaveene', 'Nelamugilu' and movie Honganasu, has announced that she would fast in front of District Commissioner office until she gets back her husband Bharat Chandra Shetty. However, Bharat has abandoned Srilatha after marring her.
