Duniya actor Vijay has reportedly slapped a camera journalist of Suverna TV after he allegedly tried to record video, while he was doing a pooja at an astrologer's home in Shimoga (Shivamogga). The actor was visiting the city with actress Shubha Poonja for the promotional tour of Taakat.

According to sources, actor Vijay and Shubha Poonja were busy doing a Homa at an astologer's home in Shimoga. A camera man from TV channel Suvarna allegedly tried to record the event on his camera. Vijay did not allow him to do the recording. After completing the homa, the media people rushed to take Vijay's statement. Angry actor attacked cameraman Naveen and slapped him on the face.

The furious media men rushed to Modern theatre, where the movie Taakat was being screen in Shimoga, to protest against the actor's indecent behaviour. They asked him for his apology. Later, along with the actor they moved to the rural Police station, where their issue was settled without any case being lodged against him.

However, after reaching Bangalore the actor apologised the media men and the people of Shimoga. "I've lot of respect for the media people. I've traveled throughout Karnataka for promoting the movie Taakat, but I've not faced any such incidents. I'm hurt by the behaviour of Media people. I've not attacked anyone," actor Vijay said.

“If anyone is hurt with regard to the incident, I beg their pardon and I bend low before the people of Shimoga," he added.
