Vishnu thanks govt. for honouring Dr. Raj

Actor Dr. Vishnuvardhan has offered his best wishes to the people of Karnataka on the occasion of Kannada Rajyotsava. Meanwhile, the Bellary Naga star has also thanked the state and central government for honouring matinee idol, Padma Vibhushan late Dr. Rajkumar by releasing a commemorative postage stamp of Rs. 5.00 in his name.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Vishnuvardhan said, “I"m very happy to know that state and central govt. have taken initiative to release a postage state in memory of Dr. Rajkumar on the eve of Kannada Rajyotsava. This Kannada Rajyotsava is really a great day of celebration for all Kannadigas."

The Sahasa Simha actor added, “Personally and on behalf of all Kannadigas, I thank state and central government for recoginsing Dr. Raj"s service to the state and the Kannada language. I extremely feel sad and sorry because I could not attend the stamp release function due to some reason.

However, BS Yediyurappa, the Chief Minister of Karnataka, released the commemorative postage stamp in honour of late Dr. Rajkumar. Chief Postmaster General of Karnataka Circle, MP Rajan was also present on the occasion, which witnessed a huge crowd of big Kannada film personalities.
