Eradane Maduve is a situational comedy: Ananth Nag

Senior Kannada actor Ananth Nag, who has teamed up with Suhasini Mani Ratnam once again in the movie Eradane Maduve, is now eagerly waiting for the release of the film. It is a situational comedy film and is hitting the theatres across the state today. It also features actors like Prem Kumar, Jennifer Kowal, Thara, Rangayana Raghu and Sharan in the cast.

Ananth Nag, who is considered to be one of the all time greatest actors in the Kannada film industry, was at Radio Mirchi 98.3 station to to promote the film Eradane Maduve yesterday (July 08). Meanwhile, he extensively spoke to Oneindia about the movie and his shooting experiences. Here are the excerpts of actor Ananth Nag interview.

What made you accept the movie Eradane Maduve?
I've done hundreds of movies in Kannada and 12 out of them are with director Dinesh Babu. He is really good script writer, camera man and a director. He is known for his comedy movies. This impressed me a lot and made me sign his projects every now and then. Eradane Maduve is my 13th movie with him. I'm sure that audience will like this movie.

How was your working experience with Dinesh Babu?
As I said, I've done maximum number of my movies with Dinesh. I've been sharing a very close bond with for the past several years. Moreover we gel well. Another specialty of him is that he always uses two cameras, which help the director to shoot from two different angles and makes the shooting move faster. I had a wonderful time with him again.

What would you like to tell about the shooting of the movie?
Eradane Maduve has been done in a very hectic schedule. Due to financial problem, the movie was delayed for long time. But Dinesh has used double cameras. This saved lot of time and repeatation of the shots besides covering everything faster. The whole movie has been shot in 10 to 11 days.

What is the story of the movie Eradane Maduve?
If I tell you the story, there won't be any craze to watch the movie onscreen. So I don't want to tell you the story. But what I can tell you is that it is all about a second marriage and is a situational comedy. It is a family story, which can be entertained by a members of a family sitting together.

Several comedy movies have come in Kannda films and many of them have disappeared without making any impact on the audience. How different is Eradane Maduve from other comedies?
Eradane Maduve is a situational comedy. In other movies, comedy arises from characters whereas here it is humour that comes from different situation not from the characters. Different characters in he film undergo lot of tension and pain and humour arises from these painful and tenuousness situation. That's how it is different from other comedies.

Earlier, you had appeared with Suhasini Mani Ratnam in the movie Hosaniyaru. After long time, you have now teamed up with her again for this movie. How was your experience? How is your onscreen chemistry with her?
My first movie with Suhasini was Hosaniyaru. I am happy that after long I have got this oppotunity to act with her again. We had great time on the sets of the movie. And our on-screen chemistry has also come out well.

What would you like to comment upon younger generation of actors in the film?
The movie has youngsters like Prem Kumar, Jennifer Kotwal and another three children are there. The present generation is really fast and forward. And it was really great experience to work with them. The film has Thara, Rangayana Raghu and Sharan are also talented artistes.

What difference would find in the respect of treatment of today and yesteryears?
There is nothing much difference. In fact, I am getting more respect compared to my earlier days. Especially in Karnataka, there is lot of love and respect for the actors and artistes. Kannada audience are really great because they have been encouraging me for the years. I'm thankful to them. I'm happy to be born in this land.

Do you any dream role, which you haven't played yet and your are desperately waiting for it?
I've played all kinds of roles including historical and mythological roles. So I don't have any such dream role. If I get a unique role I will act.

What are your upcoming movies?

Two movies like Olave Vishmaya and Eradane Maduve are releasing tomorrow (July 09). Another movie Pancharangi, which is directed by Yogaraj Bhat, is getting ready to release very soon. There are several other projects which are being shot now.
