Earlier, Dwarakish had approached Bharathi Vishnuvardhan to get her permission to name his upcoming movie as Vishnuvardhana. But she turned him down stating that she would not allow him to use her husband"s name. She had further said that she would permit him if he would sign a bond saying that he would not show his personal life on screen.
In an interview to private TV channel, Dwarakish said, "I knew Vishnuvardhan very well and he has acted in many of my movies. We're close friends and I have lot of respect for him. In fact, I owe him a lot. I want to pay tribute to him, but like others, I can't build a temple for him. The only way I can do it is just by naming a movie after him."
The comedian-turned-producer said that the film does not depict his personal life. He further said, “It's a complete entertainer movie and it doesn't deal with any of the incidents of his life. It's just the name of the hero and nothing else to do with Vishnu's personal life."
Despite Bharathi's opposition to use her hubby's name, Dwarakish has adamantly continued to fight for the title. He said, “I've applied for the title at KFCC. I've been working in the Kannada film industry for the past 45 years and I know almost all the members including the President Basanth Kumar Patil at KFCC. I'm sure that I will get justice there. If I don't get it I will move to High Court."
