Kicha's 11, Lens Kings win in first day SPL match

Kicha's 11 and Lens Kings have beaten Thriller Cobras and Legislative Lions respectively in the first day match of Sandalwood Premier League (SPL) 2010 in Dr. Rajkumar Cup Twenty20 Cricket Tournament held at District grounds, Davanagere. The Cricket match was organised by the Karnataka Dancers' Association (KDA) to raise funds for its office building.

In the first match, Sudeep's team Kicha's 11 won the toss against Thriller Cobras and chose to bat. The team scored 225 runs loosing five wickets in 20 overs. Kicha Sudeep scored 93 runs. Later, Thriller Manju's team tried very hard to chase the their run rate, but it only managed to gather 148 in 20 overs. Although Vijay contributed 49 runs, Thriller Cobras was defeated with big margin of 77 runs.

The slow pace of the first match affected the the second match held at Dr Raj Cup on the inaugural day and it forced the organiser to cut down the number of overs from 20 to 15 overs for the second match. Cinematographers team Lens Kings won the toss and elected to bat first and set a target of 111 runs in 15 overs for the loss of 6 wickets. Legislative Lions, which chased this target, lost all its wickets for 104 runs. Lens Kings won by 7 wickets against Legislative Lions.
