Darshan's Kranthiveera Sangolli Rayanna going Magadheera's way

Challenging star Darshan starrer movie Kranthiveera Sangolli Rayanna, which recently had a grand muhurtha function in Bangalore, is now being shot in Hyderabad. It deals with the story of Sangolli Rayanna and the producers have big plans for it. Sources claim that it is going to be a Magadheera of Kannada film industry.

Super hit Telugu movie Magadheera is a historical movie and it deals with story of reincarnation. The movie was made with a whopping budget of Rs. 42 crores. The main highlight was its graphic work. It has sound technical values. Its music and wonderful picturisation of battle and other scenes are superb. Besides creating new records at the Box Office, it is also successful in bagging several awards.

Setting this film as a model, director Naganna and producer Anand Appugol are said to have decided to make it big with the movie Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna. So it will be produced with whopping Rs. 12 crore. Cameraman Ramesh Babu has decided to use three high-tech cameras for the shooting. Moreover, Naganna has reportedly planned to use helicopter to shoot the fight sequence of the movie.

Darshan is playing freedom fighter Sangolli Rayanna, while Kumar Bangarappa appears as Shivappa Nayaka in the film. Senior talented actress Dr. Jayaprada will essay the role of Rani Kittur Chennamma. Keshavaditya has penned the story, lyrics and dialogues and Naganna has jointly written the screenplay with him for KSR. Yashovardhan will score the music for it. The film crew has shot a scene between Darshan and Jayaprada on the day of its muhurtha. Currently, it is being shot in Hyderabad. Soon the team will move to Gokak, where it will shoot for 20 days.

However, Magadheera was not completely a historical film. It has dealt with reincarnation story, where it had reference to the present generation. So this had helped the filmmakers to including a few commercial elements like love story, sentiments, fights and few others to make it mass.

But Kranthiveera Sangolli Rayanna is going to be completely a historical flick. Now, the question is whether the director will include commercial elements to give it a mass as well as class appeal or it will be mere a documentary or artistic film.
