The semi final and final matches of Dr Rajkumar Cup Twenty20 Cricket have been postponed due to heavy rainfall. The Karnataka Dancers' Association (KDA) and all the film personalities were anxious about rain on the inaugural day, but the rain god show did not trouble the league matches on first two days.
It rained heavily on the second day night leaving the ground at Davanagere totally wet. So the KDA has now decided to hold the semi final and final matches in Bangalore. According to sources, both the matches will be held at Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium in Bangalore and the date of the matches will be announced very shortly.
However, in the first match of the second day, the Producers team batted first and scored 116 runs in 20 overs. Chasing their score, Dhruv and Raju finished the match with their splendid batting and Editors' team defeated Producers without losing a single wicket. In the second match, the Directors' team took to bat first and scored 126 runs in 15 overs, the Press Club team lost all wickets for 86 runs and got defeated.
Meanwhile, the last match on the Saturday was the semi final and it was to be held between the Directors and the Lens Kings, but due to rain it was postponed to Sunday. So the organiser had to cancel both semi finals and final matches when it rained heavily on Sunday night again. The KDA is yet to announce the date of these matches.
