Agni Shridhar's directorial debut venture Thamassu, which stars Hat-trick hero Shivaraj Kumar and Padmapriya in the leads, is now facing a trouble after the the Karnataka Censor Board stated that the film has controversial remarks about the Hindu-Muslim relationship. According to the Censor Board, those dialogues of the film would create a communal riot in the state.

President Nagaraja of the Karnataka Censor Board has issued 'A' Certificate to the movie Thamassu and warned the movie bosses to delete all the controversial sequences of the film. Meanwhile, social activist Agni Shridhar, who has been using his pen as a weapon to condemn fundamentalist for the past few years is very upset with this decision of the Censor Board.

Irked by the Censor Board's act, the debutant director says, "In Thamassu, we haven't used any controversial dialogue or scene that would hurt the sentiments or relationship of Hindu-Muslim. We've used certain sequence in accordance with the story, but the Board has taken a few dialogues of the film in to its serious consideration. I strongly condemn this act and urge the Board to reconsider its decision. I'm even ready to approach Delhi Tribunal, if I don't get justice here."

The Censor Board has shown the movie Thamassu to AR Infant, the Additional DGP of Law and Order. Producer MS Ravindra of Thamassu says, "If the Board thinks that the film has anti-social elements, then it should have invited a concerned expert to watch it. Why did it watch the film with the ADGP? What is need of it?"

Meanwhile, president Nagaraja says, "The Board can get suggestions from concerned departments. That's why we invited Infant to watch the film. It has its own rules and regulations and we're following them. If we give a certificate under some force, we have to face the anger of the public in future. Earlier, movies like Cyanide and Police Story had faced the same problem."
