The Super actor was on Kannada radio show 'Kakambi' on FM Rainbow and he expressed his deep disappointment over the speculations about his political entry. Talking to the show host V Nagaraj, Upendra said, "Yes! I have a desire to enter politics, but this is not the right time to enter it because it needs lot of preparation. I will take right decision about it at an appropriate time."
He added, "After watching my latest movie Super, many TV channels, news papers and radio stations asked me whether I would join politics and contest election. I said, I am interested in it. But nowhere, I have said that I want to enter politics right now. There is nothing wrong in hoping for something. But media is creating lot of hype for my political interest that has created lot of exceptions among the movie buffs."
However, there is another reason for Uppi to be upset with the media. It always considers politics as a dirty place. Talking about it, he said, "Media has wrong conception about politics and it considers it as a dirty place and it discourages honest and clean-handed people by telling that they should not enter it. But it never advise anyone not to go for IAS and cinema fields."
He added, "Somewhere this negative attitude of media is stopping good people from entering politics. Media should praise politcs and encourage good people. If it keeps on telling that it is filthy and nobody should enter it, then no good person will come there and it will remain as a dirty place for ever."
